2023 Ballon D’Or 2nd Ranking Revealed As Onana Finishes Higher Than EPL Colleagues, Saka And Gvardiol

Ballon d’Or ranking 2/6 has just been announced, with Antoine Griezmann coming in on number 21 following his impressive displays at last year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-Jae placed 22nd thanks to his defensive masterclasses that helped Napoli win their first Italian Serie A title in 33 years.

Next on the list is Andre Onana who finished 23rd, ahead of his Premier League colleagues, Bukayo Saka (24) and Josko Gvardiol (25).

Onana was instrumental in Inter Milan’s stunning run to the final of the UEFA Champions League where he also made several jaw-dropping saves to stop Man City from finding the back of the net for most part of the match.

It may be surprising for some fans to see Onana finish above Saka, but while the Englishman deserve some praise for how he led Arsenal’s title challenge last term, Onana deserve to finish higher because he impressed both locally and also in Europe.

For the record, Onana won two trophies last season while Saka went the whole 2023/24 season trophyless, so their respective rankings can be said to be justified.
