‘Yesterday, I Saw A Letter From the Bank Offering to Give Us N150 Billion, & I Was Laughing’ —Wike

The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that since the president removed them from the Single Treasury Account (TSA), banks have been putting pressure on them, pointing out that he laughed yesterday when he saw a letter from the bank offering to give them N150 billion.

In a video posted by TVC, Wike revealed that it takes political leadership and political will to pull out of the TSA in order to leverage the finances of FCT.

According to him, “I can tell you, since the president removed us from the Single Treasury account, I can tell you the amount of pressure that banks have been putting here. Yesterday, I saw a letter from the bank offering to give us N150 billion. I was laughing. I’ve not even made any request to the national assembly; they’re now, that is to tell you. And it takes leadership, political leadership, and political will to have seen the merits of pulling out of this in order for you to leverage our finances to develop FCT.”
