Portugal boss explains how Barca turned Felix into completely new player

“I’ve not seen many players who can play inside but also on the wing, who have the capacity to take on players and have a good understanding with his teammates,” Portugal head coach, Roberto Martinez, has told the media speaking about Joao Felix.

“What I have seen is that he feels important, decisive for his club. Barcahave shown him another dimension. (…) It’s great to have Joao with us. Thanks to the role he plays at Barcelona, he brings us some extra liveliness,” he added.

Joao Felix finally feels more confident now that he plays for Barca. The Portuguese attacker hadn’t been quite the same in his last years with Atletico Madrid and with Chelsea on loan.

Apart from scoring three and assisting three for Barca, the 23-year-old has also netted two goals and delivered one assist for Portugal since September.
