Why Manchester United squad will wear black armband this weekend at Old Trafford.

Reeling from their worst-ever start to a Premier League season, the Red devils face the disgruntled Old Trafford faithful once again on Saturday, as Brentford head north for a Premier League showdown.

However, ahead of this important Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday evening, Manchester United squad are expected to wear a black armband to pay tribute to late Sir Alex Ferguson wife, Lady Cathy who passed away on Friday at the age of 84.

Confirming Manchester United squad will wear black armband in their Premier League fixture against Brentford at Old Trafford this weekend in tribute to Lady Cathy Ferguson, Centredevils tweeted: “The #mufc men’s and women’s teams will wear black armband this weekend in tribute to Lady Cathy Ferguson…”

Until her death, Lady Cathy and Sir Alex Ferguson have been together for 57 years. Ferguson retired from football in 2013 to spend more time by her side.
