“Debate is over” – Chelsea fans react to Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja goals vs Fulham

Chelsea are 2-0 up against Fulham inside the opening 20 minutes at Craven Cottage after Mykhailo Mudryk opened the scoring before Armando Broja added a second

Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk celebrates scoring the opening goal during the English Premier League football match between Fulham and Chelsea at Craven Cottage

Chelsea have taken a 2-0 lead against Fulham following two quick-fire goals from Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja. The Blues failed to score a single Premier League goal in September but have netted twice in 20 minutes against their West London rivals.

Mauricio Pochettino was forced to make changes to his team following the Carabao Cup third-round victory against Brighton last week. Nicolas Jackson is suspended for tonight’s clash against Fulham after receiving five yellow cards in his opening six Premier League appearances.

Meanwhile, Pochettino revealed that Raheem Sterling had not trained for threedays prior to the game at Craven Cottage tonight after suffering from a virus. Speaking ahead of kick-off, the Chelsea boss explained his decision to start Broja alongside Mudryk and Cole Palmer in attack.

“Raheem Sterling didn’t train in the last three days because of a virus,” Pochettino told Sky Sports. “That is why we play with Armando – he’s ready.

“Maybe we don’t know if he can play 90 minutes. Hopefully, he can deal with the competition after a long period [out].”

Broja missed a golden chance to score inside five minutes after rounding Bernd Leno – before firing the ball over the crossbar with Fulham defenders tracking back to try and block his shot. However, the Blues soon found the lead through Mudryk as he netted his first Premier League goal for the club since completing an £88million move to Stamford Bridge 10 months ago.

Broja atoned for his earlier misjudgement as he latched onto the ball and cooly slotted past Leno to double Chelsea’s lead. football.london has taken a look at the best reactions from Blues’ supporters on social media…
