Reece James has officially been confirmed as Chelsea Football Club’s new captain

England national team star Reece James has been named as the Chelsea football club of England captain on Wednesday evening.



The youngster started his professional football career at Chelsea football club academy, and he was exceptional for the youth team before he was promoted to the senior team.

Reece James was loaned out to Wigan Athletic football club of England during 2018/2019 season, and he made 45 appearances for the club, and he scored 3 goals in the League and also provided 2 assists.



After a successful loan spell at Wigan Athletic Bilbao football club, Reece James returned to Chelsea football club, and he made 2 appearances for the Under 23 team in the 2019/2020 season, before being introduced to the senior team.

Reece was integrated into the Chelsea first team ahead of the 2019/20 campaign by Frank Lampard. He scored on his debut a long-range finish against Grimsby Town and struck a memorable goal in the UEFA Champions League against Ajax Amsterdam football club of Netherlands, there were 37 appearances made in that debut campaign.



Reece made 47 appearances during his second season the men’s side. It was a campaign that ended in spectacular fashion, the Blues claimed the UEFA Champions League for the second time in their history.

Reece James started the final against Manchester City football club in Porto and produced an excellent performance at right wing-back to ensure the trophy returned to Stamford Bridge.



The UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup was claimed the following season, which saw Reece hit six goals in 39 matches in all competitions. He also established himself as a key figure in the England side.

Reece James made 24 appearances for Chelsea football club in all competitions last season due to injury, but he has been exceptional for the Blues during their preseason friendly matches under coach Mauricio Pochettino.
