Tinubu SA, Ajuri Ngelale, gives two reasons newly cleared ministers might not be inducted this week

According to a news that was published by the Premium Times Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that the Senate on Monday, confirmed 45 of the 48 ministerial nominees that were sent to it by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as it however deferred the confirmation of three ministerial nominees who it said were awaiting security clearance.

It was reported that those affected were the former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, a former senator from Taraba, Sani Danladi, and a nominee from Delta State, Stella Okotete.

Premium Times Newspaper reported that the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, announced this confirmation of the nominees after they were cleared by a voice vote by the senators at the plenary.

However, in another news that was published by The Nation Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that the cleared ministers were supposed to undergo induction before their inauguration. The Presidency yesterday said the ministers-designate will undergo induction before they are sworn in.

However, while the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, was reacting to this development, he told The Nation’s correspondent that the inauguration of those confirmed was unlikely this week.

While he was talking, he said, “It is unlikely that they will be inaugurated. Although it can happen, but it will be a surprise if it does. First, they are supposed to go through something like an induction programme, that is to be organised by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). This may happen before their swearing-in.”

Further talking, he said, “Second, there is no need to rush, because the Permanent Secretaries have been carrying on with the running of the system.So, next week is more likely, or even the upper week.”
