Barcelona coach Xavi is convinced of big things from Ilkay Gundogan.
Manchester City’s Treble winning captain has joined Barca in a Bosman transfer.
Xavi said: “He is a versatile player, he can play in different positions. He is a winner and a player with a lot of technical quality. He was the captain of Manchester City, the Champions League winners, and that says it all. He has prioritised Barça over other offers. He wants to succeed here.”
On a move for Girona midfielder Oriol Romeu, he also said: “We are in a complicated situation. The situation is what it is: difficult. We have to adapt to the fair play situation. I can’t mention names because that will anger other clubs. We will also look at the academy.
