Asari Dokubo: Boko Haram is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a full-scale war going on

In an interview with Channels Television, Asari Dokubo, a well-known leader and former agitator in the Niger Delta region, expressed his belief that Nigeria is currently in the midst of a full-blown war. He emphasized that Boko Haram is merely the beginning of the problem. According to Dokubo, the Nigerian military is using blackmail to manipulate the government, while the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are actively fighting against the Nigerian government.

Dokubo also accused the military of lying about not having enough weapons and equipment to combat the current level of insecurity in the country.

In his words: “I want to clearly say that there is a full-scale war going on in different parts of this country. In the Southeast, the IPOB and ESN are waging a full-scale war against the government of this country, and many local governments and many communities are deserted, schools are closed, and hospitals are closed. In the same vein, in Niger, Zamfara, the Plateau, Yobe, and Borno, we’re only talking about Boko Haram. Boko Haram is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a full-scale war going on, and the blackmail of the Nigerian state by the Nigerian military is shameful. They say they do not have enough weapons, and people listen to this false narrative. They’re lying because I’m a participant in this war. I fight on the side of the government of the Nigerian state.”
