Angry men and women have successfully set ablaze a notorious robber, who reportedly deals in stealing people’ s phones and other belongings, along Green Villa road in Biogbolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa
Daily Trust learnt that the angry youths attacked the suspect with machetes and other objects before he caught, tied and set ablaze.
Reports also had it that he initially succeeded in the operation after shooting into the air to pursue people away, but foolishly came back to the same place where vigilante members arrested him.
The police Public Relations Officer in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, condemned the action taken by the angry mob.
According to the police PRO a suspected armed robber allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed at a resident of Green Villa Road, Biogbolo and robbed him of his Android phone. Angry mob who saw the terrible incident chased the suspect, beat him up and burned him to death before the arrival of the police. The suspect was given the beatings of his life before he was set abalze by angry mob.
