EPL: I was shocked – Emmanuel Petit reveals what Chelsea players were doing on the bench

Arsenal legend, Emmanuel Petit has said that Chelsea players were arguing amongst themselves on the substitutes’ bench during their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday night.

It was the 6th straight defeat for Frank Lampard’s team since the Englishman returned to the club as their interim manager.

Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard netted twice while a predatory strike from Gabriel Jesus condemned the Blues to another defeat.

Petit was alarmed by the conduct of several Blues’ stars who spent the second 45 minutes rowing on the bench.

He told Premier League Productions: “I was quite close to the Chelsea bench and I saw some of the players having arguments between them in the second half especially.

“I was very shocked in the first half by the attitude of the players, the body language, no response, no pride, no unity, no friendship.”

According to him, no manager, even if the club’s owners hire the best 20 coaches in the world, can change anything at Stamford Bridge at the moment.

He said that the only solution, just as a host of pundits and even some Chelsea players have pointed out, is letting some of the squad members leave this summer.
