‘At Least One Igbo Man Should Have Been Picked In Tinubu’s 14 Man Transition Committee’ -Gov. Umahi

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi has protested against the omission of Igbos in the 14-man transition committee of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is coming few days after the former Governor Of Enugu, Okwesilieze Nwodo condemned the absence of a single Igbo man in the 14-man list. He claimed that Tinubu is already serving the Igbos bread soaked in a piece of water.

Dave Umahi sharing the same perception stated in an interview with TVC that at least one Igbo man should have at least been picked by the APC. He alleged that the leadership of the party deciding that no Igbo man should be picked is a wrong move. According to him, the support given to Asiwaju in the last election by the Igbos should not be repaid to the South Easterners with nepotism. He alleged that they had put their reputation on the line to assure their people that Asiwaju’s administration will be different from others.

He said, ”I disagree with the leadership of the party that in the 14-man transition committee that there should be no Igbo man there. It’s a very bad perception. I have made my point clear about that. What is right is right? At least one Igbo man should have been picked in Tinubu’s 14-man transition committee. We have to work on this perception of marginalization. Let’s not allow it to grow because we stake our lives and reputation to assure our people that this will not be business as usual.”
