Chelsea currently trails by a 1-0 goal against Real Madrid, courtesy of a goal from Karim Benzema in the twenty-first (21st) minute. The Blues started on an excellent note but ended it on a bad note, with Joao Felix missing one of the club’s great goal opportunities in the game. Fortunately, Karim Benzema became the second player to score twenty (20) goals against English clubs in UEFA Champions League, with only Lionel Messi to have scored more, that is, twenty-seven (27) goals.
Frank Lampard’s formation is one of the major problems that make Chelsea FC currently trail by a 1-0 goal. The Englishman make use of a 3-5-2 formation which shows he wants to play a defensive game rather than allow Chelsea’s players to play their game. Ben Chilwell has performed woefully on the field while Wesley Fofana and Reece James could not curtail the threat from Vinicius Junior.
To win or draw the game, Frank Lampard need to change the formation to either 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 allowing Mateo Kovacic or Enzo Fernandez to move forward to complement Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling up front. Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling have been unable to post any threats on Real Madrid defenders.
