Champions League Reacts As Osimhen Becomes The First Nigerian To Score Twice In A UCL Game

The UEFA Champions League kicked off once again this midweek after several league games during the weekend. The fans enjoyed the interesting game on Tuesday night which saw Manchester City dump RB Leipzig out of the Champions League. Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Ikay Gundogan were on target as the Cityzens ran riot at the Etihad Stadium.

Inter Milan also advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition after settling for a goalless draw against Porto in Portugal before the Italian team won 1-0 at San Siro. Wednesday was the most interesting as Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen broke a UEFA Champions League record.


Osimhen became the first Nigerian to score two goals in a Champions League game as he helped his team advance to the quarter-finals. The 23-year-old opened the scoring with a beautiful header in the first half before taping in Di Lorenzo’s cross to make it two for Naples.


Although he could have made it a hat-trick after they won a penalty, but Zielinski opted to take it. After the game, the UEFA Champions League wasted no time reacting through their verified Twitter handle as well as the fans.
