Premier League announce the winner of the Player of the month award for February

For the second consecutive month and the third time this season, Manchester United attacker, Marcus Rashford has been named the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for the month of February.

After netting five goals in four games to help the Manchester based outfit go undefeated for the month, Rashford bags the award.

The England international scored in every game he played in February, sparking victories over Leeds United, Leicester City, and Crystal Palace as well as a comeback draw with Leeds after falling down by two goals.

In winning the award the 25-year-old equals the English top flight record for most EA SPORTS Player of the Month prizes in a single campaign. He is level with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who emerged as a winner thrice during 2017/18 campaign.

Since Citizens midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan won it in January and February of 2021, Rashford is the only player to achieve that feat in two straight months.

Overall it is the 4th time the talented striker has won the award in his career, 3 short of the record held by both Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane.

The Englishman scooped the award ahead of Kelechi Iheanacho, Bernd Leno, Emerson Royal, Manor Solomon and Ollie Watkins.
