Barcelona have not registered the contracts of Gavi, Sergi Roberto, Ronald Araujo and Marcos Alonso.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have been unable to register the players due to La Liga’s strict Financial Fair Play rules.
Barcelona obtained a court ruling to register Gavi in January, but La Liga are challenging the decision at an Appeal Court. If Javier Tebas, La Liga president, is successful in the case, Barca could be forced to sell players to reduce their wage bill.
Araujo who signed a contract with Barca last year is yet to be registered by La Liga on his fresh terms. Thus, he’s still earning his previous salary.
Alonso and Roberto signed a new deal this year, but their one-year deal is yet to reflect on La Liga’s books.
La Liga insists that Barcelona are failing to play by their strict financial rules as their current wage bill is over the limit.
