5 reasons why selling Ansu Fati makes much more sense than offloading Ferran

Joan Laporta has hinted that Barcelona could sell one of their attackers in the summer.

Raphinha is a new signing, Ousmane Dembeleand Robert Lewandowski are way too important to the team, so it’s going to be someone between Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres.

Both players are having a difficult season; still, there are certain reasons why selling Ansu Fati would make more sense.

1. He is among Barca’s top earners

The 20-year-old is Blaugrana’s 5th highest-paid player – and this is not quite justified given his form this season.

Ferran, in turn, is only 9th on the list, making almost €2m less than his teammate.

2. Ferran seems alright with his current role

There are currently no rumours about the 23-year-old being unhappy with his benchwarmer role.

This can’t be said about Ansu Fati who is reportedly disappointed with Xavi who gives him little game time. His entourage is said to be displeased with Barca’s coaching staff either.

3. He would bring us more money than Ferran

Several Premier League sides are said to be interested in Ansu Fati, with Barcelona having slapped a €70m price tag on the attacker.

It would be difficult to receive the same money for Ferran who came for a lower fee. Since his signing in January 2022, his form has declined, so €35-40m is probably the most we could hope to get from his sale.

4. Barca probably yet to pay for Ferran

In October, it was revealed that Barcelona still hadn’t paid Manchester City the full fee for the Spaniard’s signing.
