Manchester United was left in pain after their humiliating 7-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield stadium on Sunday. The Red Devils suffered one of their heaviest defeat against Liverpool in the Premier League. The hosts led Man Utd by one goal in the first half of the game, with the goal coming from Cody Gakpo. Liverpool ran riot in the second half, netting 6 times against helpless Manchester United to bring the game to 7-0 at full-time.

Gakpo, Salah, Nunez, and Firmino all shined as the hosts hammered clueless Man Utd to get 3 match points. Man Utd manager, Erik ten Hag has opened up about the cause of their humiliating loss to Liverpool. He made this known while speaking to BBC Sports after the final whistle of the match.

According to Ten Hag, the players’ unprofessional and unacceptable performance cost them the match. He noted that while the players played a decent first-half game, they fell behind badly in the second half. He accused the players of refusing to play as a team. The Man Utd boss stated that he is angry by the outcome of the game, noting that the players had let themselves down badly.

Ten Hag explained that he was left in shock by the match score because his team had been resilient and had a winning attitude in their previous games.
