Even If It Means Borrowing Money, INEC Should Call For Another Election – Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa

The vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Gov Ifeanyi Okowa has given his own opinion on the state of the election results.

Live on Arise News, he said, “If their portal is down and they could not upload and compare results, and they know that they breached the Constitution, the only honest thing to do is to cancel the result and then call for another Election Day.”

He continued, “I know that some people will ask what about the election cost, there is no cost to democracy. Whatever is right is right. If this country has to source for money in other to go forth to give Nigerians a credible election so that we can give hope to our country that there is a future for this nation, we have to go on even if it involves us borrowing money from any source. Democracy is the foundation, as long as that is broken and there is a trust deficit in this nation, we will not be able to move forward in this nation.”

His Opinion should be considered as millions of Nigerians were unable to vote due to insecurities and the unavailability of Inec officials in their various voting centers. There was also news of Nigerians being disenfranchised which limited the number of voters for the election.
