Stephen Curry, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Rihanna and Rest of the World Bows Down for ‘King’ LeBron James

NBA superstar LeBron James recently created history in the Los Angeles Lakers vs Oklahoma City Thunder game on February 7. The long-awaited moment finally arrived and NBA fans all around the world are celebrating King James’ latest achievement. In the presence of his predecessor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the Lakers star was finally crowned as the new all-time scoring leader in NBA history. On this historic occasion, several athletes and celebrities from the entertainment industry extended their heartfelt congratulatory wishes to James.

Crypto.com Arena erupted in cheers during the third quarter when LeBron James finally dethroned NBA legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar. The 4x NBA champion broke the previous record that was set almost four decades ago and coincidentally in the year ‘King James’ himself was born.

A gesture of appreciation for LeBron James

Shortly after the memorable event, Bleacher Report released a video message intended for LeBron James. In the short clip, Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, Stephen Curry, Charles Barkley, and many other influential figures commemorated LeBron for his incredible legacy and congratulated him on his achievement. While Anthony Davis expressed his gratitude for being a part of the significant moment as James’ teammate, NBA veteran Charles Barkley termed it as “one of the greatest accomplishments in sports’ history”.

Rihanna said, “I am so grateful to witness this moment in history. My favorite thing bout being a LeBron James fan is watching you prove yourself over and over again, against all odds and all doubt. Thank you for repping for all of us, keep striving for greatness always and congratulations King James.”

Additionally, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant called James an inspiration, whereas, Stephen Curry took to Twitter and wrote, ‘Congrats @KingJames…legendary stuff right there #38388′.

Drake’s hilarious tribute to James

Among the many celebrities who wished well to the 19x NBA All-Star in the video, Drake’s part was probably the most fun to watch. In an extended version of Drake’s segment, the millionaire rapper could be seen standing in a basketball court as he dubbed the event a “legendary night in NBA history”. He then proceeded to suggest that he was in LeBron James’ hometown of Akron.

“You’re breaking the all-time scoring record. And to honor that, I had to come back to the place that it all started… Akron, Ohio,” Drake said.

Drake’s speech gets interrupted when the ‘basketball court’ collapses. The court is then revealed to be a green screen, exposing the club behind it in the process. With the cat out of the bag, Drake then confesses that he lied and that he was in fact in a club in Miami. Drake then concludes the video by asking the girls in the background to congratulate the new scoring leader.
