Ace Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, advised her colleagues that one doesn’t need to be in Lagos or Abuja to be a star.
The actress made this statement in Enugu during a candlelight procession in honor of the late Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Madam Peace Anyiam-Osigwe. While speaking on how several actresses and actors who became stars in Enugu migrated to Lagos and Abuja afterwards, she said, “But for me, I said I was going to stay in Enugu, inside the village, and when I go to Lagos, I tell them I am a village woman.”
“I stay at Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, and God has shown me that you can become a star from anywhere. You don’t need to be in Lagos or Abuja.” If you are good enough, they will call you even from America.”
Ozokwor’s statement has sparked mixed reactions from members of the public. Share your thoughts on this information.
