Kaduna state governor, Nasir Elrufai has told his followers not to bother returning their old notes to the bank as instructed by the central bank of Nigeria as they will have plenty of time to do so when the All Progressive Congress APC presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerges as the president of Nigeria
The Kaduna state governor made the statement at his home state in Kaduna while Engaging his followers during a press conference
It would be recalled that after some naira notes were redesigned, the central bank ordered everyone to take the old notes to the bank in exchange for the new ones
Moreso, the deadline was earlier stated for 31st January but due to the reactions from the public it was revisited and changed to Feb 10th
However, a video currently circulating online has captured Nasir El Rufai stating that the old notes shouldn’t be taken to the bank as they will be given enough time to change If APC gets to power
In the viral video that was shared online, he could be seen speaking in his native Hausa language
While Speaking to the gathering, he Said
” Don’t return your old notes now to the bank. We promise you that if Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the president, he will give you enough time to change the money and also make sure that you don’t nobody loses his money. Just make sure you vote for him” he told his supporters”
