Games went down in the English Premier League yesterday as teams played their matchday eighteen fixtures. From yesterday’s games we saw Manchester United beat Bournemouth while Arsenal dropped points at the Emirates Stadium against Newcastle United.
Manchester United’s fine form continued as they beat Bournemouth at Old Trafford. Erik Ten Hag’s side went five points clear of Tottenham Hotspur and closed in on league toppers Arsenal. Casemiro gave Manchester United the lead after he scored a brilliant goal from Christian Eriksen’s assist. Manchester United took a well deserved lead after an impressive start.
Manchester United extended their lead to 2-0 after Luke Shaw scored from Alejandro Garnacho’s assist. It was Luke Shaw’s first Premier League goal in 22 months. Marcus Rashford sealed all three points for Manchester United after he scored from Bruno Fernandes’ assist. The Englishman continued his fine form in front of goal, he has scored in four consecutive games.
Arsenal played a goalless draw against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta’s side missed the chance to extend the gap at the top of the league table while Newcastle United missed the chance to get above Manchester City. Arsenal would top the league table with five points if Manchester City beats Chelsea in their next league game.
Brighton and Hove albion beat Everton and overtook Chelsea in the league table. Everton drew even more closer to relegation zone after yesterday’s defeat. Kaoru Mitoma scored the opening goal for Brighton after je scored from Moisés Caicedo’s. Evan Ferguson went on to extend their lead to 2-0 in the first half. Brighton were already running riot at Goodison Park in the opening minutes. Solly March made it 3-0 from Evan Ferguson and Pascal Gross extended their lead to 4-0 in the second half of the match. Demarai Gray pulled one back for Brighton but it was all pointless.
