Liverpool officially unveil New Signing & Confirms His Shirt Number For the 22/23 season

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have confirmed the sensational signing of Cody Gakpo from Dutch heavyweights, PSV Eindhoven.

The 23-year-old talented attacker had been pursued by Erik ten Hag for a while, and a deal to Manchester United had seemed certain in the January transfer window.

The Netherlands international was instead signed by Liverpool, who suprisingly moved in front of the Manchester based outfit to secure his services.

“Liverpool Football Club has agreed to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven, subject to a work visa, according to a statement issued by the Merseyside outfit on Wednesday night.

“The 23-year-old forward will formally join the Reds at the beginning of the January transfer window after reaching a personal agreement and passing his medical examinations at the AXA Training Center.

Gakpo joins the team after a strong World Cup performance with the Netherlands, scoring three goals in five games and partnering with Virgil van Dijk to propel his nation to the quarterfinals.”

Jurgen Klopp made a move to increase his offensive alternatives due to the injury to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz which is expected to keep them out for several months. After PSV stated on Boxing Day that an agreement had been reached about Gakpo’s transfer to the Reds, the deal has now been finalized.

Cody Gakpo will don the No 18 shirt for the Reds for the 22/23 campaign.
