Sunday will be my last game in a World Cup, I will not take another one- Lionel Messi.

Argentina annihilated Croatia yesterday with a 3-0 win in the first semi-final encounter in the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.

 

According to the report, after the match around 2:20 am (local time) at the Lusail stadium,Argentine journalists with Marca also present had a press conference with Lionel Messi.

The Argentine legend who was named man of the match again after the game said that he has been enjoying the tournament so far in Qatar regarding it as a dream come true for him.

He went further to say that the possibility of another World Cup is unlikely to happen as this Sunday’s final clash will be his last for the tournament

“I am proud to be able to finish my World Cup journey playing this final. What I’m experiencing is exciting. Surely Sunday will be my last game in a World Cup. It will be many years before the next one (2026) and I don’t think I’ll be able to make it. So I hope I can finish in the best way.

He also went on to praise his team coaching crew stating categorically that they are integral to their success in Qatar.

He said “And we have a very good coaching staff that leaves nothing to chance, that lets you know every detail of every match and that is a great help for us. At no time did we feel lost on the pitch, we know what we have to do in every game”.
