There is no doubt that Morocco has made the entire African continent proud with their victory over Spain as other African countries are riding the coattails of Morocco even if they never mentioned Morocco once in their lives. Although they are not jumping on the bandwagon but the reality is that Africa did not help them win so it’s not Africa’s victory in general but Morocco’s victory.
The narrative that an African nation has made it to the quarter-finals is quite wrong because it’s like African football fans are pushing people to be what they don’t want to be. Moroccans identify themselves as Arabs and Muslims before anything else so being African to them is not more than just about physical geography.
