ESP 1-1 GER: Three Worst Players As Spain Drew Their Second Group Game Against Germany

Spain failed to seal a place in the next round as they played out a 1-1 draw against Germany in their second group game at the Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday evening. The La Roja won their first game 7-0 against Costa Rica but failed to do the same against the Germans.

Spain took the lead in the game through former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in the 62nd minute before Niclas Fullkrug levelled things up 21 minutes later. Germany had the chance to win the game through Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, but the former Manchester City forward failed to convert his chance.

Here are the three players who had a poor performance in the game.

1 Ferran Torres

The Barcelona forward was one of the worst players on the pitch yesterday. He started alongside Marco Asensio and Dani Olmo in the attack but failed to justify his starting berth. He lost possession 14 times and missed one big chance in the game. The former Manchester City was later replaced with Alvaro Morata in the 54th minute.

2 Thomas Muller

The Bayern Munich forward was used as a false 9 by Hansa Flick but failed to deliver for the Germans. He contributed virtually nothing before he was replaced in the 70th minute.

3 Sergio Busquets

The Barcelona and Spain captain had a stinker against the Germans as he was outrun in the battle with Jamal Musiala and Ilkay Gundogan. He was on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes of play, but could not cope with the brilliance of Musiala.
