EPL: Why Arsenal Won’t Win The Title Despite Extending Their Lead Over City Before The World Cup

In their Premier League match against Wolves on Saturday night, Arsenal earned a crucial victory. Arsenal put on a standout effort, and the manager would be pleased with the result of the match.

Arsenal didn’t get off to a strong start in the game because they couldn’t get past Wolves’ staunch defense early on. Just after the halfway point, Gabriel Jesus came close to giving the away team the lead, but his shot struck the crossbar.

Early in the second half, Arsenal finally scored a game-changing goal. With a beautiful close-range shot in the 55th minute, Odegaard gave Arsenal the lead. The Norwegian midfielder added a second goal in the 75th minute to give Arsenal a crucial victory in their final match before the 2022 World Cup.

With their victory over Wolves, Arsenal has 35 points after just 14 games this season. The North London club currently leads second-place Manchester City by five points.

However, I guess Arsenal won’t win the Premier League title despite going five points of Manchester City because they lack squad depth. There is no doubt that Arsenal would struggle when some of their key players start missing out on games.

Arsenal has a formidable starting lineup but they actually lack quality on the bench. On the other hand, Manchester City looks like a team that can survive even if certain key players in the team are out injured.
