Osasuna 1-2 BAR: What Gerard Pique Said To The Referee That Got Him Sent Off In The Last Game

The trip to Estadio El Sadar in Osasuna for Barcelona’s away game turned out to be far more thrilling than they had imagined. David Garcia gave his squad the lead in the sixth minute. Even worse, they were down a man as Robert Lewandowski was dismissed after only 30 minutes.

Gerard Pique had some issues with Gil Monzano’s officiating, so he made sure to discuss them before halftime. The renowned Barcelona player was sent off by the Spanish referee, who was in no mood to bargain, during his farewell game for the squad.

According to referee’s report, he has good reason to send Pique off. Apparently, the veteran said, “Did you see the corner you called against us? You are the referee that has fu**ed us up the most, by far.”

Pique left no stones unturned and directed personal abuse at Manzano, saying, “It’s a f**ing shame, I sh*t on your mother.”

The club was protected, although Barcelona supporters would have loved to see Geri play one more game before his retirement. These comments surely justify a red card.

Barcelona were 1-0 down to Osasuna at El Sadar when the break came. There was no shortage of controversy by that point.

Despite the fact that it didn’t appear to touch a Barcelona player, Osasuna was given a corner. Osasuna scored from a corner, but Barcelona persisted in arguing that Marcos Alonso had been fouled. After twenty minutes, there were only ten players left. Robert Lewandowski was already given one caution as he jumped into the defender without attempting to go for the ball.

After the break, Pique was seen coming onto the pitch and forming a line for the referee, Jesus Gil Manzano. Up until he was shown a red card in the tunnel, he persisted in accusing. Pique would thus miss his last football game.

Nonetheless, Barcelona are top of La Liga courtesy of Pedri and Raphinha goals, giving them five points over Real Madrid as of the time of writing.
