Why Brazil Might Regret Including Dani Alves In The World Cup Squad And Leaving Out Firmino

Surprisingly, Dani Alves has today been included in the 26-man squad list to represent Brazil in Qatar this month while Roberto Firmino was left out. Meanwhile, Brazil coach Tite might regret making this decision for some reason.

Tite selected his players based on their form as Arsenal stars Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli were also included. Gabriel Magalhaes who scored for Arsenal over the weekend was left out as the likes of Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, and Eder Militao were preferred.

Manchester United Antony, Casemiro, and Fred also made the list alongside Richalison, Pedro, Vinicius, and Rodrygo.

However, Dani Alves is currently the oldest player in this Brazil squad and shouldn’t have been called as there are other available good options. His slot should have been given to Firmino who has been brilliant for Liverpool this season. Firmino has scored more premier league goals this season than Richalison and Gabriel Jesus.

This means that Brazil might regret their region at the World Cup because a clinical player like Firmino should have been called while an aged player like Dani Alves should have also been dropped.
