With just a few months left before the 2023 election, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and those in his camp, have refused to give up on their agitation seeking to replace Iyorchia Ayu as National Chairman.

Speaking about this, the spokesman for the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Daniel Bwala, stated that Wike isn’t as important as he thinks he is. Describing him as someone who is desperately looking for attention, he insisted that there was absolutely no need to be worried about not getting his support.
On whether Atiku would lose the election because of Wike, Bwala recalled how the ruling party was able to win the presidential election twice without winning Rivers State.
He said: “My answer will be very simple; Wike is desperately seeking attention and that attention he is seeking we don’t have time for. He is not relevant, he just needs attention. He is not a candidate in our campaign, he is not the DG, and he is not a chairman. Have we said we will do something and we are unable to do it because Wike stopped us? Buhari won elections twice without winning Rivers.”
