Twitter Reacts As ”Britain’s Richest Man” Sir Jim Ratcliffe Confirms He Wants To Buy Man United

Manchester United faithful and their new manager Erik ten Hag have both been left disappointed by the club’s transfer business in the summer transfer window.

The Glazers and there recruitment team have yet again shown their incompetence in the transfer market, leading to United chasing a string of players in the remaining days of the window. So far they’ve only made three signings to support Ten Hag.

The majority of the fan base don’t expect much from the current ownership, and have been demanding the sale of the club for more than a decade.

On Wednesday, Bloomberg reported that the Glazers are open to selling a minority stake in the club. And much to United supporters’ delight, late in the day Sir Jim Ratcliffe confirmed he wants to buy the club. The 69-year-old is a lifelong United fan.

A spokesperson for Britain’s richest man told The Times, “If something like this was possible, we would be interested in talking with a view to long-term ownership.”

Fan discontent is at an all-time high in the Red part of Manchester, as United have lost both of their opening fixtures in the Premier League, conceding a total of six goals against Brighton and Brentford.

With Liverpool in town next, it’ll be interesting to see how the Old Trafford crowd reacts the side’s result, as well as Ratcliffe’s interest in their beloved club.
