FLOPS OF THE WEEK: 5 Players Whose Performances Were Very Poor For Their Clubs This Weekend

Starting from the 5th spot, we have no other than Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo. The 38-year-old Portuguese international was in the Manchester United team that lost 4-0 to Brentford on match day 2 of the Premier League last Saturday. Cristiano Ronaldo barely had any impact in the game for a player of his calibre. He did set his teammates up in good positions but that’s just about it on his performance.

Forget the 2-2 final result between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur yesterday, Son and his teammates were played off the park by the Blues. The South Korean barely had a touch of the ball inside the Chelsea penalty area as Chelsea’s Reece James man marked him. Son played for more than 60 minutes but the majority of those minutes were spent defending in his half. Maybe the result, in the end, was good for Spurs, but Son’s performance is not good news.

The Manchester City striker had only 8 touches of the ball against Bournemouth last Saturday, EIGHT. Manchester City dominated the game and had more than 60% of the ball possession but Erling Haaland only touched the ball 8 times. One of those was from the kickoff whistle so technically, he had only 7 touches during the game. Two fewer touches and he would’ve broken Lukaku’s record last season against Crystal Palace where the former Chelsea striker had only 6 touches of the ball in the game.

He made his first start for Real Madrid in last night’s game against Almeria and he failed to impress in the game. Tchouameni looked out of place in Real Madrid’s midfield, often giving away the ball possession and failing to cover his teammates when they go forward. He was withdrawn by Carlo Ancelotti in the 58th minute of the game and replaced by Eden Hazard as Real Madrid sort to make a comeback in the game.

The player who takes the first spot on our list is the new Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international was not all his best for the Catalan giants in Saturday’s game against Rayo Vallecano. Lewandowski’s linked-up play with his teammates was not good enough and this affected him each time the team wants to build up an attack from midfield. He had a good opportunity to score for the team in the last few minutes of the game but he blazed his shot wide.
