Those who play football have the knowledge. Messi touches the ball slightly with his inner foot, taking away the spin and velocity and flipping it to Neymar, setting him up perfectly for his finish. He appeared to guide the ball to his Brazilian teammate who fired home with a low drive.
Many people thought that it was an accident – Why would Messi not be focused on scoring himself, rather than trying a really tricky flip back to neymar. However, it looks deliberate to me, Messi is an absolute freak of player. You could also notice his body movement as soon as he touches the ball. That shows that it was a deliberate assist.
