UEFA reacts after Lionel Messi nets a classic goal in Paris Saint Germain’s hard-fought 2-1 victory

French Ligue 1 Champions, Paris Saint Germain forward Lionel Messi was in action today for club in their second pre-season game against Kawasaki Frontale at the New National Stadium in Tokyo.

The game was a keenly contested one between the two sides with Lionel Messi having a good day at office by opening his goal scoring chart for the Parisien under the new French tactician, Christophe Galtier which was instrumental in guiding them to a well deserved victory to make it two wins from two games played as their first game ended two nil against Quevilly Rouen.

The victory in the game was such a good omen as they marinated the winning streaks that put them in the perfect condition going into the new campaign which is set to kick-start in August.

Lionel Messi was the only goalscorer of the game in the first half as his 32nd minute goal was enough to separate the two sides going into the half time break which ended one nil.

The visitor in the second half were more dominating as they stepped up their game by putting up some more dazzling displays and as such doubled their lead in the 58th minute courtesy of a goal from Arnaud Kalimuemdo to make it two goals to nil, before the host were able to get the deficit reduced by putting one back in the late minute to the end of the game with a goal from Kazuya Yamamura which ended the game two goals to one at full time.

After the game, European football governing body popularly known as UEFA has reacted with a post via their verified Twitter handle with the caption showing that Lionel Messi was on target in the game played in Tokyo.

This was further complemented with an emoji to hail the Argentine talisman after which it was capped with a question on how far the Paris club will go in the UEFA Champions League next season, noting that he was their top goalscorer in the competition in the last campaign where they were knocked out at the round of 16 by Real Madrid.

Lionel Messi with his superb delivery in the game will be looking forward to continuing his brilliant run of form in the front of goals for his team in their next game as they continue their pursuit ahead of the new season.
