There are some ministerial positions in Nigeria that have been vacant after some ministers resigned to pursue their political ambitions.
People should recall that Rotimi Amaechi (Former Minister Of Transportation), Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba (Former Minister Of State for Education), Ogbonnaya Onu (Minister Of Science, Technology and Innovation) resigned from their ministerial position to purse their 2023 presidential ambition.
However, since they left, the positions have been vacant and many people have been asking Buhari’s government to name new ministers so that the ministries will function properly before the end of his tenure.
Recently, President Muhammadu Buhari nominated seven (7) persons for screening and confirmation by the Senate for appointment as Ministers.
Senate President (Ahmad Lawan) read Buhari’s letter of request on the floor of the Senate, in Abuja on Tuesday.
In the letter read by Lawan, the president equally said that the nominees would replace the former ministers that resigned from his cabinet.
Nevertheless, a lot of people are curious to know where these nominated ministers come from and their respective states.
Below are the names of the new ministers nominated by President Buhari and their respective states.
Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh is from Abia State, Umana Okon Umana (Akwa Ibom State), Egwumakama Joseph Nkama (Ebonyi State), Goodluck Nnana Opiah (Imo State).
Also, Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub from Kano State, Ademola Adewole Adegoroye from Ondo State and Odum Odih who comes from Rivers State.
The list practically has individuals from the different geographical regions within the country and this also promotes the theory of equity and fairness.
