Kogi 2023: Shaba, Bode, Umoru, Ishiaku, Yabagi, pick PDP tickets for Reps, Assembly

A serving House of Representatives member in the National Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Shaba has picked the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), for next year’s Lokoja Federal constituency election.

Shaba defeated his closet rival, Hon. Danladi Bababudon by 54 to 10 votes to retain the PDP ticket.

Speaking to journalists after he was declared winner by the returning officer, Shaba extended olive branch to his co-contestant, urging him to join hands with his campaign team to win the general election.

In Lokoja, the opposition PDP elected Hon Kasim Ishiaku and Hon. Ahmed Shehu Yabagi to fly the party‘s flag for Lokoja I and II State Assembly in the forthcoming general election.

The duo emerged through consensus and affirmation during the Party’s congress held in Lokoja.

Elsewhere, Comrade Zekeri Umoru emerged the flag bearer of the PDP for Igalamela Odolu State House of Assembly election, while a former publicity secretary of the Kogi PDP, Bode Ogunmola picked the ticket for Ogori-Magongo State constituency.

Bode Ogunmola scored a total of 28 votes to beat his closet opponent, Jerome olumuyiwa Joseph who scored 2 votes.

the PDP primaries in Kogi witnessed late arrival of materials, which officials said it was due to logistics problem.
