Osibanjo Excuses Himself From Lagos State APC Membership, Moves Platform To Ogun State

Nigerian Vice President Yemi Osibanjo says he is no longer a member of the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and by that freed himself from the reprimand of the chapter which is wholly given to the 2023 presidential ambition of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Laolu Akande, Spokesman of Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, has said his boss is no longer a member of Lagos APC .

Akande said on Monday, April 11, 2022, that Osibanjo who declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election on APC platform moved his membership to Ogun State when he revalidated his APC membership status in Ward One, Ikenne, Ogun State on February 9, 2021

By relocating his membership, the vice-president may have removed himself from unsavory actions of the Lagos State chapter of the APC which is dominated by supporters of the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Recall that Osibanjo and Tinubu have both declared interest in contesting for the presidential ticket of the APC. Tinubu has by far been adopted by the officials and Lagos State chapter of the APC including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who have been drumming support for his life ambition

Speaking on Monday to the Daily Independent, Akande said Osibanjo who declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election on the APC platform moved his membership to Ogun State when he revalidated his APC Membership status in Ward One, Ikenne, Ogun State on February 9, 2021.

Prior to his movement, Osibanjo is a chieftain of the Lagos APC with his polling unit at Code 33, Unit 2 Victoria Garden City, Lagos and by relocating to Ogun State may have have freed himself from reprimand.
