Karim Benzema Sets 3 New Records after his hattrick against Chelsea

Karim Benzema continued his impressive form for Real Madrid on Wednesday. Real Madrid returned to action in the Champions League as they faced Chelsea in the Quater Finals.

 

The first leg came up at the Stamford Bridge. Carlo Ancelotti started his usual lineup with Valverde starting on the right-wing. The first goal came after a beautiful one-two passes between Vinicius and Benzema. The French striker doubled Real Madrid’s lead few minutes later with another beautiful header. He completed his Hattrick after an error from Mendy and Rudiger.

 

The French Striker has now set three new records. He has beaten his career record of the most goals in a single season. He has now scored 37 goals in 36 games this season.

Karim Benzema has now scored 80 Champions League goals in his career. Only 3 other players have achieved this in history. Ronaldo, Messi and Lewandowski.

 

Karim Benzema is now the first French man to score more than 10 goals in a single campaign in the Champions League
