1. Moses Simon.
He missed a huge chance to put Nigeria ahead in the second half of the game today. His overall performance was not the very best and he lost the ball carelessly on more than 5 occasions in the first half alone. His poor performance today came as a suprise given that he was the best player for Nigeria at the AFCON tournament two months ago.
2. Jordan Ayew.
He lacked end product in today’s game for Ghana. He got in excellent positions in the first half of the game but poor decision-making meant that tsoe chances went to waste. In the second half of the game, he struggled up against Ola Aina and had no influence whatsoever in the game.
3. Samuel Chukwueze.
Nothing to write home about his performance today against Ghana. He never really looked like he could cause problems for Ghana and was heavily marked by the Ghanian defence.
1. Thomas Partey.
He was the best player for Ghana against Nigeria today. The Arsenal midfielder looked a step above any other midfield player in the game and orchestrated play for his side with relative ease. The Nigerian midfielders couldn’t get anywhere near him and he was physically dominant as well.
2. Ola Aina.
Excellent performance at right back for the Chelsea youth product tonight. He was excellent defensively and was the only Super Eagles defender who looked like he could handle anything the Ghanaians threw at him today.
