Edwin Clark, the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, warned Bola Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, against running in 2023.
Despite hailing from Nigeria’s most sophisticated region, Clark advised Tinubu to rest.
The elder statesman, speaking on Arise TV, stated that he would rather vote for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to be Nigeria’s next President.
Osinbajo, according to Clark, is a smart man who has what it takes to lead Nigeria in 2023.
“I’m not aware of Jonathan running for president,” Clark says. I’m his father, and he hasn’t told me anything about his plans.
The people of the southwest are Nigeria’s most educated and cultured, but Tinubu should take a break. Aside from the Igbos, I would vote for the Vice President since he is a smart man.
“How many times have we heard Tinubu discuss the state of the nation or criticize those in positions of power?”
Tinubu revealed his ambition to run for president in 2023 only a few weeks ago.
President Muhammadu Buhari was advised by the previous governor of Lagos State that his choice to run for president was a lifelong ambition.
Similarly, it was reported that Osinbajo will announce his decision soon.
The Vice President, on the other hand, has disputed such reports.
