NIG Vs SUD: Why Nigeria May Lose Their Next Game Against Sudan On Saturday

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be in action against the National team of Sudan at the Roumde Adjia stadium on Saturday. The game will be a tough one for both sides but, victory for Nigeria means they will be in best position to qualify as leaders of group D.

Nonetheless, the Super Eagles of Nigeria may lose against Sudan On Saturday based on the following reasons.

• failure to convert chances.

One of the major reasons why Nigeria may likey lose on Saturday is because of their inability to convert chances. Against the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday, Nigeria had 15 shots with at least 5 on target but, were only able to score one goal as a result of Iheanacho’s positional awareness and experience.

Against Sudan on Saturday, if Nigeria fail to convert their chances, they may likely lose. Sudan’s game against Guinea Bissau was quite entertaining. They were explosive in attack and at the same time compact in defense. This is why Nigeria must covert their chances otherwise, they may lose.

• The object of surprise.

The Sudan national team does not have the likes of Salah who Eguavoen can set his team to mark out of the game. They have quality players who are playing in lower leagues with little or no profile to use as a case study. As such, they will be hard to be played against.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria should not allow them to take them by surprise, they should be focused, be decisive and should not make the mistake of underestimating the team. Moreso, Eguavoen should field a strong team against Sudan. If their last performance against Guinea Bissau is anything to go by, Eguavoen should not underestimate them or the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be taken by surprise.
