Police Complete Autopsy On Sylvester Oromoni’s Body, Releases Body To Family For Burial

Sylvester Oromoni, an 11-year-old Dowen college student, had his body autopsied by the Lagos state police command.

The school’s five students and three housemasters are currently in police custody.

The state police command’s spokeswoman, Adekunle Ajisebutu, stated in a statement released on Friday, December 17, that an autopsy was performed on Sylvester’s remains and that the results are pending. The body has been returned to the family for burial, he said.

”Sylvester Oromoni: autopsy done. Result is being awaited. Corpse released to family for burial. Investigation ongoing.” Ajisebutu said

In other news, three members of a family were burned to death at their home in Otukpo, Benue state’s Otukpo Local Government Area.

At roughly 1.00 a.m. on Friday December 17, the tragedy occurred in a two-bedroom flat in Jesus College Quarters, residence of the victims’ father, Mr Ochoche Ode.

The fire was discovered at midnight by Ode’s wife’s younger sister, who realized something was burning while three of his children were sleeping.

He stated he and his wife were in one of the rooms when they were informed about the incident.

“As I was about to find out what was happening, the fire escalated, covering the whole room where my kids were sleeping and in an attempt to force myself into the room to rescue the children, my face got badly burnt. All attempts by neighbours to quell the fire failed and all my three children were burnt to death,” Ode said.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Sewuese Anene, confirmed the incident on Friday in Makurdi.
