Loyal Dog Refuses To Leave Owner’s Grave A Week After His Death

The German Shepherd breed called Fero is owned by Omer Guven who moved to the Kaymakli district in the northern Turkish province of Trabzon after he had lost his wife over a decade ago.

According to the news site Olay53, Omer Guven began to take care of dogs and cats who had gone astray.  He was widely respected and regarded as an animal lover by the people around him. Omer first began to take care of a German Shepherd puppy 11 years ago, naming it “Fero”.

Unfortunately, on 29th October, Omer became ill and was taken to the hospital, where he passed away at the age of 92. Fero kept watching over the coffin until the burial the following day.

Sevilay Surul, Omer’s daughter, stated:

“My father loved Fero very much.

“He also had an incredible love for my father. He was so sad over the loss of my father

“He didn’t eat or sleep for two days. My father loved all animals and kept them, but he had a special bond with Fero.”

Commenting on the deceased, Kaymakli community leader Temel Yilmaz said: “Uncle Omer took great care of animals. Fero was devastated when he passed away. We even saw tears flowing from Fero’s eyes.”
