Farmers count losses as flood destroy 3,000 houses, farm produces worth billions of naira in Benue
RESULTS OF KONSHISHA FLOOD
Farmers in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State are counting their losses after flood destroyed no fewer than 3,000 homes and farm produces worth billions of naira, in the area over the weekend.
KemiFilaniNews gathered that hundreds of families were displayed by the flood that affected 4 out of the 11 council wards of the local government.
Some farmers in the area who spoke to our correspondent said they have lost everything adding that they were also stranded during the flood that submerged their community as the wooden bridge along Korinya-Vandeikya road that serves as exist root from the area was completely submerged and destroyed by the flood.
“Nothing was spared. Our houses, home utilities, farmlands, crops and even stored produces in the storages were all destroyed by the flood,” one of them lamented.
