Black Stars Keep Their Hopes Of Reaching Qatar 2022 Alive With Convincing Win Over Zimbabwe

The team came under so much pressure following their defeat in the last qualifier match against South Africa.

After the loss to South Africa, the coach, CK Akunnor was sacked and upon his sack, he was replaced by Serbian coach, Milovan Rajevac.

The match against Zimbabwe ended 3-1 in favor of the Black Stars with Ghana’s goals scored by Kudu Mohammed, Thomas Partey, and Andre Ayew.

The first half of the match was a fairly played one as both sides had their share of the cherry although the Black Stars led with Kudu Mohammed’s goal in the 5th minute.

The second started with the Zimbabweans piling pressure on the Black Stars and their persistence paid off as they were awarded a penalty which was neatly converted.

After scoring from the penalty, the Zimbabweans continued to pile pressure on the Black Stars, however, Ghana’s goalkeeper for the day, Joseph Wollacott was up to the task as he came up with some mind-blowing saves.

The tide changed when an individual brilliance from Arsenal star, Thomas Partey ensured the Black Stars were leading before Andre Ayew sealed the win with a goal in the dying minutes of the show.

The Black Stars will travel to Zimbabwe to play the return encounter scheduled to take place on October 12.
