My Defenders and Midfield Players Can Come From Anywhere But My Strikers Must Be Africans – Mourinho

AS Roma coach, Jose Mourinho has heap praise on his latest signing, Tammy Abraham from Chelsea. He believes that he was never wrong in choosing Abraham to be his preferred striker as he believes African players poses a good attacking sense.

He stated clearly that he prefers having African players as his strikers as he cited Rashford as a practical example.

He stated;

“My philosophy will never change. Centre backs can come from anywhere. Midfield players also. But my main Striker should be of African Origin, that is my lucky charm to win titles.

This is why I pushed for young Tammy Abraham to come to join me. If you remember under my watch at Man United I made Rashford world-classes at a very young age, we won Europa League and other honours. I left, and he got new lessons from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer so he forgot to score goals. It’s painful to see.”

Jose seems to have had great strikers of African origin and his statement suggests he’s not done having more play for him.
