Barcelona President, Joan Laporte Finally Speaks On The Departure Of Lionel Messi

Yesterday, the lovers of football and fans of Lionel Messi and Barcelona were left in shock after Barcelona announced the departure of the 6 times World Best Player whose contract ended some months ago. And as it is right now, several news media have confirmed that Lionel Messi won’t be signing a new contract with the club where he spent most of his time as a professional footballer.

From the records, Lionel Messi has never played football for another Club except from Barcelona and he spent 17 years of his career under the obligation of Barcelona but it is a surprise that he wouldn’t be staying for the season despite being one of the big wigs in the Club.

However, the President of Barcelona, Joan Laporte has come out to give an explanation and reasons why the club couldn’t afford to resign Messi and why he has to leave urgently. While the President was speaking in a Press Conference which he had on Friday, he revealed that the Club couldn’t retain Messi because of La Liga rules which have to do with the wages of players.
