According to the minister’s media aide also, the governors of Lagos, Edo and Delta made available money which was handed over to Siasia at different times. He also said that a couple of individuals, at the instance of the Minister, also raised money which was handed to him in cash. The minister also ensure that Mr. Siasia got a fair hearing from CAS.

Mr. Siasia recently claimed that the Sports ministry and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) did not give him the necessary support to upturn his FIFA ban. Siasia’s life ban by FIFA was recently upturned by CAS, by reducing it to five years after filing an appeal at the global sports court.
