England vs Scotland: Mourinho, Lampard single out one player after 0-0 draw

AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho and former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has singled Billy Gilmour for praise following his impressive display for Scotland in their Euro 2020 0-0 draw against England on Friday.

Mourinho and Lampard believe Gilmour made the ‘difference’ during Scotland’s goalless draw with England at Wembley.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Mourinho said, “The kid Gilmour was the difference, he was always showing, he wanted the ball under pressure.

“McGinn could be a bit higher and the two strikers worked so hard. The last action of the game is an example of their mentality.

“Steve Clarke organised the game tactically very well, but more importantly than that was the spirit.

“They didn’t come for a football match, it was clearly Steve and his staff’s job. They united the team and they were ready to fight.”

On his part, Lampard said, “The kid Gilmour was the difference.

“He was always showing, he wanted the ball under pressure.”

Scotland will face Croatia in their next game on Tuesday, while England will tackle Czech Republic.
